Look at all we've accomplished together!

Congratulations Florida on officially recognizing Medical Marijuana as a Constitutional Right! Many of us are not necessarily thrilled with certain parts of the Implementing Bill, but it's important to remember we made a huge impact on lawmakers and effectively expanded patient access through our community’s efforts. You can read the Bill in its entirety here (I would highly recommend it if you haven’t already!):
This month marks 20 years for past-President Cathy Jordan and our current Executive Director Jodi James.  Twenty years ago, at an event organized by Mike Palmeri and a group known as FORML (Florida Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws), Cathy and Jodi met. For twenty-years they have traveled the state and the country together to ensure you were represented.

Post-Amendment 2 or What you need to know now!

November 8, 2016 was a good day for cannabis reform supporters. Florida became the 26th state in the nation to allow patients with debilitating conditions to access cannabis. In addition to Florida, North Dakota (27), and Arkansas (28) also passed laws to allow people with qualifying conditions to legally possess cannabis. Loved and Lost

Certainly there are the days of standing in inclement weather with signs, long hours creating the language and materials needed to shape the debate, and the endless meetings with lawmakers, staffers and opinion leaders. But no, these things are not the tough part.
Call members of the Florida House of Representatives Health and Human Services Committee (HHS) right now -  Call them all or just call the leaders- but make your voice heard!
HB 1313 will allow companies growing cannabis to use pesticides not approved for use on this plant!   Despite months of discussion in the rules making process the five golden ticket winners (those five licensed to grow, process and distribute low-THC) now want lawmakers to allow pesticides. s.

Cannabis 101 at the Capitol

The “Cannabis 101” Exhibit at the Florida State Capitol was the first-of-its-kind.    Pioneers of the cannabis movement joined together from all around the state of Florida to help bring sensible change to the current cannabis policies. Bringing proper education about the whole plant and making a presence at the Capitol was the main intent of the event.
